We're getting an absolute spectacle on Thursday Night Football when the Green Bay Packers visit Ford Field to take on the Detroit Lions in an NFC North battle worthy of prime time.

The stars will shine on Thursday night when this game kicks off at 8:15 p.m. ET (Prime Video). But we've gone a slightly different route for our anytime touchdown scorer predictions ahead of TNF.

Sure, David Montgomery is likely to score, as we discussed in our Packers vs. Lions TNF prop bets. And if you read our Packers vs. Lions prediction, you know that Josh Jacobs is a good bet to handle a ton of work.

However, we're targeting one of the NFL's best deep threats to kick off our NFL Week 14 predictions with a bang. As for the other touchdown scorer prediction, well, you'll see.

Christian Watson is a threat to score every time he steps on the field.

Jordan Love's favorite target for deep shots is regularly able to get good separation at least a couple of times per game, often resulting in significant gains.

He managed just two catches last week, but Watson still finished with 67 yards thanks to his field-stretching ability. And a walk-in touchdown bounced out of his hands against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 12.

Therefore, it makes perfect sense that Watson's TD projection in Week 14 is solid but still a little sketchy.

Watson is projected for just 0.33 TDs against the Lions, which is well below what I'm usually comfortable with. However, Jacobs' anytime TD odds are far too short, and the second-highest projection on Green Bay belongs to Jayden Reed, and it's just 0.36 while his prop is trading at much shorter +150 odds.

The implied probability of these odds for Watson to score is 30.77%. We may not be getting any significant edge, but this profiles as the best TD bet to make for the Packers.

Elsewhere, Rod Villagomez is focusing on a different Packers wide receiver in his first touchdown scorer predictions for Thursday Night Football.

And Brenden Schaeffer is looking toward a top Lions receiver in his Packers vs. Lions parlay picks.

Best odds: +650 via BetMGM | Implied probability: 13.33%

Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs are trading at around -160 to score on Thursday, and Amon-Ra St. Brown is barely better than even money at +105. I considered picking Jameson Williams or Sam Laporta, but neither of their touchdown props are especially enticing.

Therefore, we turn our attention to the - admittedly depleted - Lions defense.

Love was an interception machine this season up until the last two weeks when the Packers pounded the San Francisco 49ers and Miami Dolphins into submission. He's thrown a pick in all but those two games.

The Lions have been extremely tough against the run, as the only contests in which they've really allowed a rushing attack to get going was in the previous matchup between these teams. However, that was a much different affair with brutal weather at Lambeau Field.

If Detroit can slow down a banged-up Jacobs (who's dealing with a calf injury) and force Love to throw the ball more, it will open the door for potential significant plays going the other way.

One of the Lions' two D/ST touchdowns came in the last meeting between these teams. Love should endure an equally hard time battling with a roaring Ford Field crowd as he did with Mother Nature in Week 9.
